General Information
Academy of International Relations and American Studies (Wyższa Szkoła Stosunków Międzynarodowych i Amerykanistyki - WSSMiA) is a private college, established in 1997 with state college rights granted by the Minister of National Education (pos. 123 in private colleges register).
Political Science studies at Academy of International Relations and American Studies are unique - education includes study of politics, study of state and law, political thought and political systems. Within the studies framework students learn about the newest political history of the World, Political systems, parties' systems, national administration, local governmants, international relations, European integration and political marketing.
In the course of studies students acquire general knowledge which allows to understand political phenomena and processes occuring at a global, regional, national and local scale; their historical factors and the ability to analise the relations among them.
WSSMiA's graduates leave the college fully prepared to work in government and local government's administration, political parties' organs, economic and social institutions, international organisations, media services and education.
The Academy functions as a part of The European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
These studies are the first in Poland to guarantee the graduates target jobs in the United States, the United Kingdom and in other countries of the European Union.

WSSMiA Staff
WSSMiA's teaching staff consists of lecturers of Warsaw University, Warsaw School of Economics and other well-known Warsaw schools. Lectures are conducted by 5 titular professors, 9 doctors with post-doctoral degree, college professors and 32 doctors.
Research and Publications
The Academy does research in International Security, Modern Polish History, Polish Community Abroad Issues. There are a lot of academic conferences and lectures conducted by well-known personalities, grandees and politicians.
The Academy publishes academic quarterly World and Politics, which engages professors of Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University and other important political science institutions.
WSSMiA's Educational Base
WSSMiA's Educational Base guarantees high studying standards for a large number of students. The WSSMiA's seat is a very modern, high education-targeted building. It has 2150 sq metres of office surface, a fenced area with a parking lot for about 70 cars. There are two lecture theatre for 140 and 100 students respectively, 7 40-student classrooms, a 5000-volumes library, a reading room, a computer room, a 50-people buffet, a canteen designed for 80 people, 10 staff rooms, 2 front offices, 2 faculty offices and a coatroom for 400 people. Moreover, there is a gym designed for 16 people and sport's hall. WSSMiA's building is also adapted for the disabled. There are wide doors, a wheelchair ramp, a lift, handrails and specially equipped toilets. Some of these aforementioned facilities are also to be used by BUPA.
International Employment Agency
Since 2005, Academy of International Relations and American Studies has also been an International Employment Agency and owns the following certificates of Ministry of Economy and Labour:
We guarantee our help to get at least a one-year contract and help to adapt to new living conditions.
Foreign Languages.
Our graduates finish laguage courses on B2 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It guarantees the ability of fluent communication in both speaking and writing and gives solid basis of specialist language - essential in a target job.
The Academy is also an Authorised Examination Centre for Pearson Language Assessments which altogether with Edexel organises English language examinations LTE - London Tests of English.

Student training
Student training takes place in international institutions and organizations, editor's offices, radio and TV stations. For our best students - work placements in the USA - student trips to Brussels for EC meetings.
